Note: Internet Explorer is the browser of choice for presentations to retain PowerPoint 2002 features (e.g., animation, audio, video, slide transition, presentation frame sizing, etc.)

PowerPoint Show (one file resides on the WebCT server; PowerPoint Viewer required for students who do not have the PowerPoint program installed their computer)

This is relatively easy to do.

1. Create your PowerPoint presentation
2. Save the presentation (e.g., MyPresentation.ppt -- no spaces in the file name)
3. Save As a PowerPoint Show (e.g., MyPresentation.pps -- no spaces in the file name and note that the file extension is pps)
4. create a folder in your WebCT My-Files directory for PowerPoint Shows
5. upload MyPresentation.pps to the folder
6. In your WebCT course, go to Course Content, Designer Options
7. Select the radio button under which you would like your show link to be displayed
8. Select the Add file radio button on the right side of your screen
9. Click Go
10. Browse to MyPresentation.pps
11. Click Add
12. If you would like to change the title that is displayed, select the radio button next to Edit titles on the right side of your screen
13. Click Go
14. Change the title
15. Click on Update
16. Click on Update Student View in the upper right-hand corner of the page

Limitations

• cannot print slides
• viewing not tracked by WebCT
