To receive an A for the course:
500 - 400 points EXEMPLARY The student is thoroughly involved in the course and engages thoughtfully with all of the required activities. The student regularly interacts with others in the course, contributing to its interactivity. The student is present at all meeting times and completes work to the satisfaction of the instructor. The student assumes leadership in the multimedia showcase. |

To receive a B for the course:
399 - 300 points EFFECTIVE The student is involved in the course. The responses are generally thoughtful and show real thinking about the issue at hand. Occasionally responses seem brief and could have used more time. The student interacts with others in the course though not always on a regular basis. The students completes work to the satisfaction of instructor, but has been absent on two or more days. |

To receive a C for the course:
299 - 200 points BASELINE The student is intermittently involved in the course. Most of the coursework is completed in a satisfactory way, but there are frequent missed assignments and absences. The student interacts with others in the class in a sporadic way. |

To receive a D for the course:
199 - 100 POOR The student is intermittently involved in the course. Coursework is not completed to the satisfaction of the instructor. Absences are frequent. The student rarely interacts with others in the class. |

To receive an F for the course:
99 or below UNACCEPTABLE The student fails to complete the coursework in an acceptable way. There are long periods of time when he or she has not been involved. The work that has been done seems very hurried and unreflective. Student is absent often. |
